CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. After a period of operation, woodwool / cooling pads may clog with dust or dirt, which greatly affects the performance of air cooler. It is recommended to replace water on 15 days interval for better efficiency.
2. Replace cooling pads, once every 2 years in case of woodwool pads and once every 4 years in case of Honeycomb pads.
3. To drain water out from cooler, tilt / lay the cooler with its back on the floor. Alternatively remove water completely by opening one of the side panels.
(i) To open the side panel for cleaning, lift the panel up, lower side of panel will unlock and will come out from frame. Now slide down the panel to remove it completely. (ii) To install the side panel back in the cooler frame, insert top side of panel in the frame and slide it up. Fix and push the bottom end of panel down the frame.
EFFICIENCY TIPS
1. For better cooling, always place cooler in front of an open window such that fresh air from outside is pulled into cooling pads. Alternatively place cooler in balcony window (like a window AC fitting).
2. In case of room cooler, re-circulation of air exhausted by cooler back again into cooling pads leads to high humidity and ineffective cooling. Ensure cross ventilation of the room for better cooling.
3. A small air exhaust on the wall opposite to cooler is recommended to ensure cross ventilation of cooling space.
TROUBLE SHOOT
1. Pump not working / No water circulation:
When pump is switched on, normally water percolates down through cooling pads. But if it does not percolate, open back panel of cooler to check :
(i) connection for water circulation pipe and fix it back if found disconnected.
(ii) functioning of submersible pump, and if found faulty, replace it with a new pump by disconnecting from given connector. (Contact us at info@ramcoolers.com for free replacement of faulty pump during warranty period).
2. Sprinkling of water:
(i) The new pads of cooler sometime lead to sprinkling of water on floor, which automatically settles once the pads take due shape after one week of cooler operation.
(ii) Water falling on woodwool sometimes slides the pads down causing a gap on top side of pads, leading to sprinkling of water on floor. Pull the woodwool pads up with help of sharp object like a screwdriver to minimize this gap and thereby avoid sprinkling of water .
3. Electric Shock:
Electric shock may be due to improper earthing of socket. Call an electrician to rectify earthing in your house and ensure that electrical specifications are as per point number 4 of operating instructions.
STORAGE
If you do not plan to use the unit for a long period of time:
1. Drain out all water and clean the water tank.
2. Operate the unit in fan mode for approx. 30 to 60 minutes. This will dry the interior of cooler and prevent mold growth.
3. Moving parts should be properly lubricated and cooler unit should be packed and stored in a dry, cool place.
CAUTION
1. Always switch off the cooler, while filling water in it.
2. Do not tilt water filled cooler unit. If you need to move the unit, push gently and slowly on the side to avoid water spilling.
3. Never clean cooler unit under running water or immerse unit under water.
4. Always unplug cooler unit when not in use.
5. Cooler should never be used in bathrooms, shower rooms or other wet areas as it may lead to shock.
6. If the power cord is damaged, contact the manufacturer / dealer or a qualified electrician.
7. Unplug cooler unit before servicing or maintaining.
8. Never push fingers or objects into the fan.
9. Basic precautions should be taken when operating cooler unit near young children.
10. Do not place heavy objects on top of the unit. Do not obstruct the air outlet.
11. Keep a minimum space of 6 inches around the unit.
12. Change water frequently to prevent mildew and mold growth.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR DESERT COOLERS (GOLD, ECO COOLERS AND IND 1100/1400 MODELS)
1. Unpack and separate cooler from water tank*.
2. Keep the tank on a flat, sturdy surface and place the cooler inside it, ensure that cooler is not tilted.
3. Place cooler along with tank in the window from outside in such a way that round outlet of cooler fan is facing the room and exactly fits in the window£.
4. Fill water in cooler tank using water pipe or a mug.
5. Use standard supply of 240V. Plug unit into dedicated socket with rating of more than 5A. Ensure plugin socket has proper earthing.
6. Always turn on the fan switch first followed by Pump switchΩ.
7. Adjust the speed of the fan as per your requirement with help of speed control# given as per cooler model and enjoy cool breeze from the cooler.
NOTES
* Water tank is generally tied on top of cooler or is tied inside the cooler body with a strap. If tank is tied inside cooler body, then lay down the cooler on its back and cut open the strap to separate out the tank.
£ To facilitate the exact window fitting, use customized trolley from local fabricator or use bricks to lift the cooler height. Also ensure the open window space above cooler is covered completely.
Ω (i) Always ensure sufficient water level in cooler tank before switching on the pump .
(ii) Pump will function only when the motor is on, pump alone does not work.
